Planning

In my group is myself and Reeve Manning and together we are making a music video to practise lip syncing to the Lazy Song by Bruno Mars. We had help from others including Alice Jackson, Emily Smith and Joanna Metcalf to which also contributed to choreography ideas and directing our video but any ideas brought up were decided by myself and Reeve as it is our video. I did the majority of the editing process with occasioanl help from Reeve however we both took turns in filming and camerawork, the scenes where we are both featured were filmed by Joanna Metcalf and  on one occaison we used a timer on the camera as we were all featuring in the scene.

What Location and why?

We chose to film on the sixth form grounds because it was easily accessible for everyone and also because the song is about being lazy and not doing anything so having us in our chosen costumes in a school shows that we are here but we have no intention on working.

What actors and why?

Our friends are used in this lip syncing video because we knew when they were free and they are easily contactable when we need them, also because they are willing to help as well as being media students they can contribute appropriate ideas and help with their own knowledge also.

What costumes and why?

As the song is about being lazy we felt that onesies would be appropriate for this and the actors in our video also have their own onesie, a unique selling point of this video is the range and style of onesies that we have because now they are quite common and popular amoung teenagers to have a cool and individual onesie.

What props and why?

We made the last minute change to include props in our video, originally we didn't think we would need to use props because in one part of the clip we are using ourselves as a sofa for Reeve to sit on. However, at another part in the video where Reeve is combing his hair we decide for him to throw away the hair brush as he is too lazy to do so and this then fits in with the lyrics of the song.

We chose to do the Lazy Song by Bruno Mars because he is a different and unique artist which makes him quite popular to teenagers. This song in particular is also very popular and easy to remember for our audeince to recognise but also for our actors to learn. Another reason is because there are sections in the song where multiple voices or backing singers are heard so this enabled us to experiment with more than one person in the frame and more than one person singing at once to see which worked best.
